Overwhelmed...

You ever wonder what life would be like without pressure, inconvenience, trials, etc.? I do too. I was remarking to my wife this morning, how I long for the sleep lost over the years. Lots of peace and healing is found in rest. Last night we had the conversation with our 6 year old about how she requires at least 10 hours of sleep at this age, but she is under the impression that we have a party and play games, etc. while she slumbers. The reality is that we try to catch up on what we didn't get the chance to finish. I would settle for some down time to read a book, I have 5 waiting to be completed this summer or the next 3 months. Then there is the battle to try and prepare for sleep, put everything out of your mind that would detract or distract you from sleeping. By then it is later than you want it to be and you only have a few hours of sleep ahead of you. Then your children wake up at an extremely early hour and want to watch some television, which is the same instrument that you attempted to use to fall sleep the night before. Anyway, all that to say that it's not as bad as it seems, there is always good news:

1 Corinthians 10:13 (New International Version)
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

2 Corinthians 6:8-10 (New International Version)...through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors; known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed; sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.

James 1:2-4 (New International Version)Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
